Stencils and Paint Can Makeover Any Room
Happy Friday, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. When it comes to DIY home projects, inexpensive does not have to equal inconsequential. For less than $100, you can easily freshen up a dated room using paint and stencils to create an accent wall. A fresh coat of paint and a wall stencil can instantly transform a space from drab and dreary to fresh and fabulous. Today, we’ve gathered up a dose of inspiration to prove that a small project like painting a stenciled accent wall can make a big difference.
Let’s take a look at what Yaneisy Moochnek has been working on for a Client. She is the fab designer and owner of Onepiece At A Time Designs and recently shared a bedroom makeover. Yaneisy said, “Here is a great before and after of Clients master bedroom. Sometimes it’s as simple as moving your furniture around to create your dream room.”
Not only did she shift the furniture around but she also stenciled a stunning accent wall behind the bed. Yaneisy painted the wall navy blue and then stenciled the Beads Allover pattern ($42.95) in metallic gold. With a fresh coat of paint, a pretty geometric stencil, and shifting around her existing decor; Yaneisy gave this bedroom a complete overhaul.
The oh-so talented Erin, from Upside of Chaos, showed off her stenciling skills with this playroom makeover featuring a stenciled accent wall. She painted the Sweet Dreams Allover Stencil ($39.95)in Valspar’s Granite Dust and White. Erin commented, “Our room feels so much bigger and nicer with the accent stencil! Isn’t this the best stencil pattern!”
Lindsey, the clever DIYer behind the blog Better After proved that a dose of color and pattern can really spruce up a dull space. She painted her computer nook navy blue and then stenciled our Drifting Arrows Allover Stencil ($39.95) in white. Lindsay commented, “But with a little love, I figured it could be a fun space that actually invited the kids in. ” We totally agree that a little paint and pattern go a long way.
A drastic wall color change is not always needed to make a difference. Angelika C., a creative fan, shared this beautiful living room. She said, “I wanted more of a semi modern contemporary feel in here, so I stenciled the wall with a Metallic Silver paint with the Marrakech Trellis Stencil.” The subtle addition of the Moroccan wall pattern ($44.95) makes a big impact on this space.
