A Stencil Pattern Can Decorate A Tween Bedroom Accent Wall
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Decorating a bedroom for a tween can be tricky. You need to have just the right amount of age-appropriate style and sophistication while keeping within a budget. Our large selection of stencil patterns make a tween bedroom makeover easy and affordable. Today we’re going to share a tween bedroom makeover featuring our French Poem Allover Stencil. Come take a look…
We’d like to introduce Melonie, a creative DIYer and the blogger behind The Mellionaire House. We first fell in love with Melonie’s decorative style when we spotted her Instagram account (@themeiollionairehouse). It’s an endless scroll of gorgeous spaces!
Melonie has a daughter, named Prima. She turned twelve not too long ago and requested a room makeover for her birthday. Here is what her daughter’s bedroom looked like before:
When your mother is a stylish DIYer like Melonie then a room makeover is a piece of cake! Prima requested a room that was chic and sophisticated. Melonie said, “I decided to make her focal wall a true statement piece with a gorgeous stencil and some beautiful wall art. ” She browsed our large collection of stencil patterns before selecting the French Poem Stencil. This typography wallpaper is more than just a pretty typeface, it has a handwritten style and reminds the reader to cherish every moment! Melonie said, ” I love the French language, and found a lovely French poem at Cutting Edge Stencils that I thought was just perfect for this phase in her life. ”
With her stencil in hand, she was ready to start stenciling! She used blue painter’s tape to hold the French Poem pattern in place. She poured her gold craft paint into a foam tray and then painted the pattern using a dense foam roller.
If you are recreating this project at home, be sure to roll off any excess paint to eliminate bleed. After each section of the stencil is complete, simply untape it and reposition to finish the pattern on the wall. It can be helpful to clean the stencil in between uses. Once her stenciled wall was complete, Melonie stepped back to admire her beautiful french script pattern. Then she added new bedding from Pottery Barn Teen, an ottoman from Homegoods, and curtain panels from Overstock. Let’s get to the fun reveal. Are you ready to see how her stenciled tween bedroom turned out? Here it is!
Melonie had this to say about her project, “I wanted to give her a room that would reflect her beautiful personality, so here is what I came up with, and she loves it!” Isn’t she the best Mom ever? Oh and she’s a pretty great decorator because this tween bedroom looks amazing!
