Celebrate Mother's Day in Style with A Stenciled Decorative Tray
Cutting Edge Stencils Shares Four DIY Decorative Projects Using Stencils
Good morning my stencil loving crafters! I'm sure you're all aware of this but Mother's Day is literally DAYS away! I don't know about you but lately these holidays seem to be creeping on up on me! Do you have anything special planned for that wonderful mama in your life? Before we go into complete panic mode, let's all take a deep breathe. The bad news is we only have a couple of days to figure out something special. The good news is that Cutting Edge Stencils is here to help you with the perfect DIY project! When looking for Mother's Day ideas, I'm sure you've thought about the whole serving her breakfast in bed routine. And we think that's a lovely idea but why not kick it up a notch this year. Don't put away that dollar store breakfast tray just yet! Today we're going to show you some diy stenciled decorative trays that will have your Mama gushing over your creative sentiments!

Let me introduce you to Hanni, the creative DIYer and blogger behind Craftionary. Hanni bought a simple wooden tray from Ikea and planned on using it on her side table but its lackluster appeal had it crying for a makeover. Hanni loves stenciling and knew this was the perfect item to stencil. Out came the Harlequin Trellis Stencil and some paint and WAH-LA! Here is her simple to make, pattern filled tray!

3. Trellis Allover Stencil
Meet Janell, the fabulous interior designer and blogger behind the House of Fifty. Janell had an oversized wooden tray, measuring 18" x 24". The simple tray needed some color and pattern to give it a POP. So Janell chose the Trellis Allover Stencil along with some ivory and gray colored paint. She has a post on her blog about how to stencil a tray so I won't bore you with the details but I will WOW you with the results. AMAZING! Now imagine what breakfast might look like served on that!

And here we have our friend Tonia, the fab mom of three, DIY crafter, and blogger behind The Gunny Sack. Tonia had been thrift shopping when she spotted some vintage metal trays that needed some tender lovin' care. With her craft hat on; she snatched it up in second because it was perfect for a stenciling. She started by watching our detailed how-to videos. Then using our Casablanca Craft Stencil along some acrylic craft paint in black, silver metallic, and glitter she got started. Tonia says, "And I LOVE how it turned out!" We have to agree that we do too!

So that’s it folks! We are sure that adding a stenciled decorative tray to your breakfast in bed routine will surprise her in more ways than one! Which stenciled tray is your favorite?
