Stencil Patterns Add A Dose of Style To Laundry Room Cabinets
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Make heading to the laundry room a stylish affair by adding a snappy stencil pattern. A zippy stencil pattern paired with a neutral color palette can help take the bore out of the laundry chore. Let’s take a look at a laundry room makeover that features stenciled cabinets.
We’d like to introduce Jaclyn, an avid DIYer using her creativity and personal style to make her house a home. She’s also the blogger behind One Thousand Oaks. Last spring, Jaclyn participated in the One Room Challenge which was designed by Linda from Calling it Home. She completed her kids coastal themed bathroom in the six week period and then felt like she was in a remodeling daze. She had a laundry list of DIY projects and finally decided the laundry room was her next project. Here is what the space looked like before its makeover.
Jaclyn’s laundry room was plain and functional space. She felt it had become a catchall for household junk and that it lacked style and personality. Jaclyn put her DIY thinking cap on and decided to stencil the front of her laundry room cabinets. She felt a stencil design was a great way to add visual interest to her functional space without breaking the piggy bank. She browsed our Geometric Stencils on our website and selected the Herringbone Allover Stencil. This trendy geometric pattern is as flattering on furniture as it is on walls.
First, Jaclyn sanded down her cabinets (be sure to visit her blog for more details about this project). Then she painted the cabinets in Dove Beige chalk paint by Deco Art. With her stencil in hand, Jaclyn was ready to start stenciling. She used blue painter’s tape to hold the stencil design in place and she painted the Herringbone pattern in grey taupe chalk paint from Deco Art. After each cabinet was complete, she would untape the stencil and reposition to finish them all. For additional information on how to stencil, we recommend viewing our stencil tutorials.
After the cabinets was stenciled, Jaclyn completed several other DIY and organizational projects to wrap up her laundry room makeover. She had this to say about the stencil project, ” I was very impressed with the quality of products from Cutting Edge Stencil and I really recommend giving their stencils a try!” Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here are the stenciled laundry room cabinets.
