To stencil over existing tiles, first wash and dry your floor, then give it a coat of adhesive primer (Stix is great), after that apply a base coat color (regular wall paint will do), stencil your tile pattern in acrylic or latex paint and finally seal it with two coats of water-based polyurethane for durability.

Note that this stencil is designed to be used as a continuous floor or wall pattern and might not fit precisely into your existing tiles.
