Cutting Edge Stencils Helps Brighten Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo!

Good morning, my DIY stencil fans! Turkey day is less than two days away and while Cutting Edge Stencils totally looks forward to the whole gobble gobble till you wobble sort of feeling, we also enjoy the sentiment behind the special feast! Each day we watch our fan base grow and we have another fab DIY fan share a stencil success story. We are truly grateful for our wonderful fans, especially since we are by no means a large company. We're also thankful when we can give back to the community that supports us. Today we're going to share with you Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo which is an organization that we support by donating stencils. Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo is a non-profit organization that is near and dear to our hearts. It is devoted to creating positive and uplifting spaces in hospital centers that provide chemotherapy treatment. It uses local interior designers to help transform unimaginative and often sterile spaces into vibrant, warm, and peaceful environments using our donated stencils. See we told you it was right up our alley! Let's take a look at some of the spaces our stencils have helped transform... El Camino Hospital, Mountain View CA On Saturday, August 3rd, 25 volunteers joined together to transform four exam rooms and the nurses' break room at El Camino Hospital Chemotherapy Center in Mountain View, California. All four rooms had the same Birch Forest Allover Stencil in colorful hues like the room shown below. The project was a huge success and after viewing the stenciling, Dr. Shane Dormady said, “There are many tears shed in these rooms and much joyful news as well. These rooms will make the harsh news easier, and the joyful news more joyful.” Maternity Hospital, San Salvador, El Salvador In mid-August, the volunteers transformed an eleven-entire wing of the Maternity Hospital in San Salvador. Kimball Star was the Designer for the project and used stencils like this Tree Peony to spruce up the space! San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco CA On November 2, volunteers gathered to make over the large chemotherapy unit at the SF General Hospital. They transformed five infusion rooms, the nurses' stations, the nurses' break room and the largest waiting room. Cora Sue Anthony, an HGTV designer, led the project and used several of our stencils including the Large Fruit Tree, Beautiful Birches, and Virginia Creeper Stencil. Nancy, the founder of Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo had this to say about the project, "The magic of these rooms never ceases to amaze and bring me to my knees in awe and thanksgiving."
