Paint It Magazine Shines the Spotlight on Stencils

Cutting Edge Stencils is featured in Paint It Magazine!

Happy Friday, my DIY lovelies! As we stated earlier in the week, Cutting Edge Stencils seems to be on the up and up. First we launched a whole new set of gorgeous stencil designs and then we've spotted our fab stencil patterns gracing the pages of DIY Magazine! And now we're ending the week with a big bang! We happen to pick up the premiere issue of Paint It Magazine, a Harris Publication, and do you know what was in there? FOUR of our gorgeous stencil designs: the Nagoya Craft, Acacia Allover, Chain Link Allover, and the Shipibo Allover! Can you hear us squealing with excitement? After thumbing through this hot new read, we managed to put it down just long enough to share some of their sizzling stencil tidbits! The publication asked Lara Rossignol, the creative DIYer behind Piewacket Blog, to pull together a stylized painted wall using graphically placed stencils as wall art. And what did the creative cutey do? She took the project to a whole other level by offering up a wall in her own apartment. Lara reached out to prop stylist Jess Hammer, who had done the beautiful sets & props for this Rue Magazine shoot. Oh and she's also the proud mama to this adorable French bull dog Laika, the model in the shoot. For a dramatic change, the duo created a feature wall using Behr's Tropical Sea and stenciled our Acacia Allover pattern in Behr's Whisper White. Although it's an allover pattern, they decided to place the stencil design in a kite shaped pattern for a more whimsical look. They continued the stencil design on to the front of the cabinet in front of the wall. To complete the spirited living room makeover, Lara and Jess worked together to craft custom throw pillows and an area rug using our Nagoya Craft stencil in vibrant, eye-catching hues. These little stenciled details add huge visual value to the space. We love this graphic overhaul! We love this stencil tip spotted on page 15! Paint It Magazine prompts readers to dress up their walls, floors and home decor with stenciled motifs and repeating patterns. Ginny Randall took the lead on both of the projects shown below. First she stenciled a faux area rug on top of primed floorboards using our Shipibo Allover pattern. To give the carpet a lifelike finish she hand-painted tassels around the edges. Next she gave a plain Jane dresser a razzle-dazzle makeover using our Chain Link Allover and patterns similar to our Casablanca craft and Nagoya craft stencils. The exotic tri-color Moroccan patterns give the old dresser an eclectic lift!
