HGTV Magazine Has Fun Decorating With Stencils
Cutting Edge Stencils Is Featured In HGTV Magazine's March Issue!
Good morning, my home decor loving friends!
Cutting Edge Stencils just got the latest issue of our favorite DIY publiation,
HGTV Magazine, and let's just say we were pleasantly surprised! The March issue is filled with fun decorating ideas that use creativity rather than cash. As we were flipping through it, we spotted trendy
Chain Link Allover Stencil pattern staring back at us on page 39. Let's talk about the details of this recent stencil sighting.
Chain Link Stenciled Accent Wall
In the section titled, Fun Decorating, the publication shows readers a simple formula for making over a standard dresser. They started with a 4-drawer chest in white from Wayfair. Then they added a lamp, a mirror, a vase and a pretty patterned background. Yup, a formula as simple as that can add up to some serious style. The vignette below features the dresser painted in a pretty shade of coral, Benjamin Moore's coral reef 12, with an off-centered stripe in Damson Orange by Pratt and Lambert. The accent wall behind the coral dresser has been painted in Benjamin Moore's Simply White and stenciled with the
Chain Link Allover Stencil in Glidden's Candy Apple. The berry-hued geometric print adds a graphic kick to the scene and the lime green gourd lamp completes the look.
Chevron Accent Wall
Now on page 36 of the same section, we noticed a gorgeous gray and white chevron striped wall. While it doesn't look like this particular wall was painted with a stencil, we wouldn't want you to struggle to recreate it. After all, our
Chevron Allover Stencil would make painting this zippy pattern so much easier. Simply paint the wall using Benjamin Moore's white dove and then use our stencil to paint the pattern in Sherwin-Williams Intellectual Gray. The mint green dresser sure does pop against this striped backdrop.
Wild Berry Damask Accent Wall
The next vignette features the perfect mash-up of romantic and modern. Unfortunately, it also features a pricey damask wallpaper. We both know that wallpaper can be an expensive hassle which is why we prefer painting the wall pattern. Our
Wild Berry Damask Stencil is the perfect solution. Paint this popular damask pattern using Benjamin Moore's china berry 1351 over white dove OC-17.
If you love this idea, then you'll love the rest of the DIY ideas featured in the March 2015 issue of
HGTV Magazine.
