She was creating the perfect You Are My Sunshine themed nursery for her daughter Amelia. She decided to add some depth to her walls with a subtle stencil pattern, our Cascade Allover design. Vanessa had this to say after she stenciled it, “Such a fun way to add an accent wall in a room and the color and pattern options are endless!” The stencil really helps to tone done the pink in the room and add some visual interest to her walls. She was expecting her second child, a little girl, and had to create her perfect nursery using pieces from her first son’s room. So she put her DIY cap on and used a combination of pink and brown to pull together an arty traditional space. How did she do it? Well she says, “We have a lot of traditional pieces, but we like to layer in modern elements and a little artsy flair for a fresh look.” Let us translate! She’s not afraid to pick up a paint brush and to do a project herself to get the right look in her room. Using an plain Ikea rug and our Casablanca Stencil, Carolyn crafted this wonderful pop of pink. She even admits it’s one of her favorite pieces, “The rug makes the room feel vibrant and decidedly girly.” If her rosy color scheme has you blushing then recreate it yourself using colors like Benjamin Moore’s grandfather clock brown 2096-30 on the walls. Then stencil a rug in italiano rose 2087-30 and lightning white 2019-70. Do you love it or do you really love it?

A pink and turquoise color scheme is becoming more and more popular! Meet Emily, a super creative DIY fan, and the Mom behind this stunning nursery. She describes her decorating style as traditional with a modern twist but also a vintage flair. This statement also holds true for her color combination. The pink is a very traditional girl’s room color and the stencil and touches of turquoise are a fun modern twist! She used our Rabat Stencil in various shades of pink to add this eye catching pattern.
