Cutting Edge Stencils Recognized in This Old House Magazine’s July 2013 Issue
Hey there, my home conscious DIY friends! Cutting Edge Stencils has some pretty gosh darn exciting news! WE HAVE BEEN SPOTTED, AGAIN! So you might remember yesterday on Facebook when we shared our HGTV.com spotting. As it turns out Davis Bromstad created this gaw-geous living room using our Rachel’s Brocade.
Mr. Bromstad said, “a stencil is used to create a dramatic feature wall.” BOOYAH! He’s got that right. The stenciled wall adds some awe-inspiring appeal to this loft like space. We were beyond excited at our stenciling spotting!
And as if our week couldn’t get any better, guess what shows up in our mailbox? Our stencil design featured within This Old House Magazine! YIPEE! Can you tell we’re a little excited? I mean who wouldn’t be thrilled to see our Hourglass Stencil pattern looking extra stunning and sophisticated under the title of such a prestigious publication!
Let No Surface Go Unstenciled!
Meet the Julian family, Haley and Marc and their four adorable children. It all started with a simple question one day, “what could this kitchen look like?” And so the great kitchen makeover began! Haley loves the drama and appeal of high end wallpaper but Marc is budget conscious. So the compromise the two settled on was a stencil! Makes perfect stencil sense to us! Haley painted the kitchen in Clark + Kensington’s Ominous Cloud and then painted the Hourglass Stencil in Dutch Boy’s Ultra White. The kitchen looked so stunning that she continued the stencil pattern in the reverse color scheme on the dining room side of the peninsula (see the image in the lower left hand corner). This time she painted the light color first (Clark + Kensington’s Oyster Pearl) and then stenciled the shapely design in the darker Ominous Cloud. It’s absolutely stunning!
The Julian family embrace color and pattern and look at each surface as open canvases. A tour of their gorgeous home would surely have you spotting stencils left and right! Haley even joked, ” Anytime I have a wet roller and a dry stencil, watch out!” We love how they embrace patterns!
The Julian Family used the Hourglass Stencil, which stencil would you paint in your kitchen? Leave a comment below!
