Stencil Projects Can Deliver Big-time Personality Without A Lot of Effort
Good morning, my DIY friends. If the change in season has you thinking you could also use a change in your home decor then Cutting Edge Stencils has your back. Now is the time to give your home decor a lift with these easy decorating projects using our stencils. These ideas are fun, fresh, and fast! Come take a look.
First we’re kicking things off with a stenciled accent wall. Meet Renter Decorating. Megan had painted a black chalkboard wall in her dining room but after one gloomy winter, she realized she preferred something more bright and cheerful. So she painted over the chalkboard paint with a plain white hue. It helped brightened the space up super fast but she felt it was lacking personality. So Megan put her DIY cap on and decided to stencil a wall pattern. She fell in love with the Tea House Trellis, a gorgeous Moroccan pattern. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place while she painted it using a dense foam roller. Megan chose a deep navy with a slight purple cast similar to Benjamin Moore’s midnight navy 2067-10. Megan had this to say about her stenciled accomplishment, “My new wall. All bright and happy for summer.” We totally agree! She also gives renters this tip about stenciling, “it’s a great solution for renters who want the look of wallpaper with just some paint.”
, the clever DIYer behind the blogDo you love that stenciled accent wall but feel like you just can’t commit to such a big project? No problemo. We have the perfect project for you. A small stencil project can still have a big impact on a space. We’d like to introduce Sondra Lyn At Home. Sondra is in the process of making over her master bedroom and decided to add accent pillows. She said, “I was looking for something a bit more modern, a one-of-a-kind designer pillow, and I discovered this wonderful idea!” That wonderful idea happens to be Paint-A-Pillow. She chose the Tuscan Trellis Paint-A-Pillow kit with white covers and black Jacquard fabric paint. After opening her pillow kit, Sondra was ready to start crafting. She used the dense foam roller to paint her design in black. Once her stenciled pillows were complete, she placed them on her bed and stepped back to admire them. Sondra commented, “And you know how I love to move things around… this pillow looks equally at home in a chair in our family room!” We think they look gorgeous in both spaces!
