Stencils Can Modernize An Old Linoleum Floor On A Budget
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! You don’t have to break the bank to enjoy good-looking floors. Our tile stencils are an easy and affordable way to give an old linoleum floor a modern and stylish new look. Today we’re going to share a dining room floor makeover painted with our Augusta Tile Pattern. Come take a look…
We’d like to introduce Jason Connors, an avid upcycler and creative DIYer behind J and K Restoration. Jason is always working a DIY project and shares his adventures on his Instagram account. On his DIY list was his dining room floor. Here is what it looked like before:
Jason had an old linoleum floor in his dining room. It was dated and dull but replacing it with tile was not an option. He started looking into DIY flooring options and decided that stenciling was the way to go. Jason discovered our amazing Tile Stencil Collection. He browsed our large collection of tile patterns and selected our Augusta Tile Stencil. This beautiful pattern was inspired by traditional Portuguese Azulejos tile designs.
The first thing Jason did was clean the old linoleum flooring and paint it using white Rustoleum paint. Cleaning and prepping a floor properly is very important for a project like this. With his stencil in hand, he was ready to start stenciling!
He used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in black. After each section was complete, Jason would un-tape the stencil and reposition so he could paint the entire dining room floor.
Once the dining floor was stenciled, Jason applied a waterbased polyacrylic sealer to increase durability. Are you ready to see how his dining room makeover turned out? Here is Jason’s newly stenciled linoleum floor!
Ah-mazing! We think he did a great job transforming this linoleum floor. Jason had this to say about his project” Loving the transformation. Was a lot of fun working on this project! ”
