Easily Create A DIY Stenciled Floor Covering Using Stencils
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. From kitchen floorcloths to doormats and everything in between, DIY floor coverings are becoming increasingly more popular. Adding a dash of design has never been easier or more affordable than with our stencils. So if this project has been on your craft to-do list then come check our inspiration.
We recently shared some of our favorite fan projects and it seems as if this project has started a stenciled floor covering trend! If you recall, Kristi B. had the creative idea to decorate her kitchen floor using a stenciled floorcloth. She used our Antico Allover to create her one of a kind project. Kristi commented on our Facebook page saying, “The floorcloth I painted last week is now in its new home. Doesn’t it look beautiful?”
Next we’d like to introduce Kammy, the creative blogger behind Kammy’s Korner. Kammy spotted a $3 rug onsale at a local hardware store. She snatched it up and plopped it down in front of her door. It was a plain black, thin doormat. The lack of personality bothered Kammy so she eventually started shopping for a new one. Unfortunately she just couldn’t find one that was affordable and appealing. That’s when she decided to put her own spin on the boring doormat. Kammy had our Oasis Stencil from a previous project. The Moroccan pattern was just perfect for giving her doormat a little pick-me-up. To see how she pulled together this one of a kind doormat check out her DIY Outdoor Rug Tutorial.
Then we happened to be reading 2 Bees In a Pod when we spotted one of our stencils dressing up a vinyl floor runner. Vicki is an amazing DIYer and one of the crafters behind the blog. She received a vinyl remnant from her brother. It was in good shape and Vicki had the perfect project in mind. She had won the Tuscan Trellis Allover Stencil from one of our blog partners in a stencil giveaway. The Tuscan Trellis is a beautiful pattern based on the classic Mediterranean ironwork. With a little bit of paint and the Moroccan stencil, she was able to transform an old piece of vinyl into this stunner of a runner. We won’t bore you with the details since you can find the full vinyl rug tutorial on her blog. Vicki had this to say about her project, “I love how it turned out.”
