Stencils Can Personalize The Decor A Shared Bedroom
Welcome back, my DIY mamas! Cutting Edge Stencils feels that bright colors and bold patterns can really personalize the decor of a space, especially if the space is a shared bedroom. Today we’re featuring two simple craft projects using our Zagora Craft stencil that were used to embellish a shared bedroom making it bright and cheery. Come take a look.
We’d like welcome back Kristi, the proud mama of three little girls and the blogger behind Notes For My Little Ladies. Kristi and her husband decided to move all three girls into one bedroom. The three little sisters love spending time together so it made perfect sense for them to share a room. The couple purchased plain black bunk beds from Ikea. They were affordable and fit the space but they lacked personality. The good news is that their mama is a total DIY queen so she decided to embellish the bunk beds with paint and a pretty stencil pattern. Kristi chose the Zagora Craft stencil, a beautiful Moroccan pattern. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the pattern using a 2-inch dense foam roller and pink acrylic craft paint. Here’s how it turned out:
Once the bunk bed project was complete, Kristi rinsed off her craft stencil and was ready to start her next project. Someone was certainly bitten by the stenciling bug! A couple of years ago, she had made a wooden sign to hang in the nursery. Rather than toss the sign, Kristi decided to give it an update and hang it in the new shared bedroom. She removed the vinyl letter from the wooden sign and then used goo gone to remove any adhesive residue. Once the sign was completely clean, she reused her craft stencil, the Zagora, to add pattern and tie it into the bunk beds. Kristi painted the Zagora stencil using American white craft paint. Using the dense foam roller, she gave it a very light coat of paint so that white appeared pale pink. After the paint was dry, she added vinyl lettering with a cute saying about sisters and hung the sign using ribbon. Adorable, don’t you think?
