Wall Stencils Can Help Make Crafting Canvas Artwork Easy!
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. If your blank walls need a quick pick me up then we have the perfect DIY project for you. Grab a blank canvas, select your favorite stencil pattern, and make a custom artwork for your space. We’re excited to share an easy to make canvas artwork using the Roses Wall Stencil. Come take a look…
We’d like to welcome back Anam, the creative DIYer and furniture makeover queen behind the blog Delicious and DIY. Anam loves all things DIY and her blog is a little gem for furniture makeover projects. She wanted to craft some Pop art inspired artwork for her home. She had used the Roses Stencil for a previous craft project and loved the pattern so much she wanted to use it again. The great thing about our stencils is that they are reusable.
Anam purchased a large white canvas to paint. She planned to paint the canvas in multiple colors and stencil the pretty flower pattern on top. With that thought in mind, she selected five DecoArt paint colors for her project. She dabbed Hot Pink, Purple, Pink, Yellow and Lime Green along the edge. Then using a chip brush, she pulled the colors across the canvas. Anam ran the paint brush in one direction to avoid mixing the paint colors.
If you’re trying to recreate this, pour your paint onto a plate or paint tray. Dip your stencil brush into the paint. Brush off the excess paint onto your folded paper towel until the brush looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge. Painter’s tape can help hold the stencil in place.
A project like this is super easy and quick. Anam enhanced her artwork by adding highlights to some of the roses using Gold Liquid Gilding and a fine tipped paint brush. Once it was complete, she was ready to display it in her space. Are you ready to see how it turned out? Here is her Roses stenciled artwork!
We absolutely love how Anam’s custom wall art turned out!
