A Stenciled Tween Bedroom Makeover Using the Little Diamonds Allover Pattern
Good morning, my DIY mamas! Cutting Edge Stencils can’t get over how fast those little bambinos seem to be growing. It seems like one minute you’re stenciling the nursery and the next you’re shipping them off to college! Slight exaggeration but the reality is transitioning the space from baby to big girl to tween can be a challenge. Well the good news is full of gorgeous room ideas using stencils to help fuel your inspiration. Today we’re going to show off a little girl’s bedroom that was transformed into a tween girl’s bedroom using the Little Diamonds Allover Stencil.
We’d like to welcome back Tricia, the creative mama and DIYer behind the blog Suburban Bitches. Tricia’s little girl, Alice, recently asked her mom to update her room. It was an adorable space that her mother had designed when she outgrew her nursery. She loved the special features, like that scrapbook wallpaper wall but she was growing up and wanted a space that a little more sophisticated. Here is her space before its makeover:
The first thing Tricia did was come up with a plan. She fell in love with the idea of a pink and grey color combination with splash of aqua. To cut costs, she planned on painting the furniture. And she adds, “Oh, and of course I have to stay true to the Bitches Design Philosophy – every room is better with a touch of gold.”
Tricia shared her design ideas with her daughter who exclaimed, “that it was exactly the room she’d been dreaming of!” So she painted the walls a gorgeous shade of blush pink using Sherwin Williams’s White Dogwood. Tricia also painted the bed frame, purchased new bedding, and added some sophisticated accessories like the lamp. The room was lacking something and then her stenciling light bulb went off. Tricia decided a stenciled accent wall in gold would be the perfect compliment to the space. She chose our Little Diamonds Allover Stencil, a whimsical diamond shaped pattern. She used painter’s tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint on the sparkly pattern. Here is her newly stenciled tween girl bedroom!
Tricia says, “She says, “I love the subtlety of the gold diamonds with the pale pink. ”
Here is a close-up of that eye-catching diamond pattern.
