Wall Stencils Can Add A Faux Tile Look To A Bathroom Floor
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! If your dated bathroom floor has you feeling down then we have the perfect project for you! Our tile stencils are an easy and affordable way to give an old bathroom floor a stylish new look. Today we’re going to share a bathroom floor makeover painted with our Augusta Tile Pattern. Come take a look…
We’d like to introduce Amanda, the creative DIYer and blogger for Behind the Aqua Door. Amanda recently started her home renovation blog so she could document all of her creative DIY projects around her home. One of her DIY projects included her bathroom. Here is what it looked like before:
Amanda had always disliked the look of this bathroom and wanted to completely renovate it. Years went by and it just sat there until she finally decided to tackle it. Amanda started looking into DIY flooring options and decided that stenciling was the way to go. That’s when she discovered our amazing Tile Stencil Collection! She browsed our large collection of tile patterns and selected our Augusta Tile Stencil. This beautiful pattern was inspired by traditional Portuguese Azulejos tile designs.
The first thing Amanda did was attempt to lay down a layer of self-leveling cement.
Amanda’s husband stepped in and help smooth out the cement flooring. Once it was completely flat, she was ready to start painting. She prepped and painted it using white Rustoleum paint. Cleaning and prepping a floor properly is very important for a project like this. With her stencil in hand, she was ready to start stenciling!
She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in black. After each section was complete, Amanda would un-tape the stencil and reposition so she could paint the entire floor.
Once the bathroom floor was stenciled, Amanda applied a polyacrylic sealer to increase durability. Are you ready to see how her creative DIY project turned out? Here is Amanda’s newly stenciled bathroom!
Whoa! We think she did a super job transforming this bathroom and to prove our point, here is a before and after photo. Amanda shared on her blog, ” I am so pleased with the outcome. After stenciling I sealed with polyacrylic. I wanted to stencil everything when I finished this floor! ”
