Cutting Edge Stencils Shares Stenciled Kitchen Ideas That Are Sure to Sizzle
What’s cookin’, good lookin‘? Well for one thing Cutting Edge Stencils has been feeling HOT for stenciled kitchens since last week when we posted about our splash in Benjamin Moore’s trend brochure! Check out this stunning Chain Link stenciled kitchen backsplash from their Color Trends brochure and then make sure you read this post showing other stenciled backsplash ideas…
Gorgeous, right? These stunning stenciled kitchen backsplashes got us thinking, what else could we stencil in a kitchen? Well we have an idea for you. What if we stenciled our kitchen islands? Think about it. Just as you’re sipping your coffee, eating an english muffin; you look down to see a pretty stenciled pattern. Now that’s a way to start a morning! So today we’re going to be sharing some sizzling stencil inspiration. Lets get started!
Our first stop in our kitchen tour is this gorgeous gray and white Hourglass Stenciled kitchen island. This past July, This Old House Magazine featured the Julian family. This handy DIY family was working on a kitchen redo (we showed their stenciled kitchen backsplash last week). Well they decided to use the same stencil they used on their kitchen backsplash also on their kitchen peninsula. They used a white base coat in a flat finish (Dutch Boy’s Ultra White) and then used the hourglass pattern in Clark+Kensington’s Ominous Cloud.
Looking to kick up the gray and white a notch? How about using black and white? We love how this Fleur Allover Stencil by Kathy Peterson painted on this kitchen island!
Now if you were WOW’d by the black & white Fleur Stencil then you’re gonna L.O.V.E this black and gray breakfast bar! Kammy, the diy queen from Kammy’s Korner decided to stencil her breakfast bar using our Oasis Stencil. Kammy says, “Every person who walks in my front door is now hit with this gorgeous eye candy.” Gorgeous, right?
Does all this black, gray and white have you dreaming of more color? Have no fear because Brian, one of our fab fans, is here! He stenciled the Harlequin Trellisl pattern in a bright, bold blue on his kitchen island. To get this look, consider using Benjamin Moore’s southern belle 819. Love it!
We were also left speechless by this Nagoya Allover Stenciled pattern in a cool retro orange on this kitchen island. Our facebook fan and super DIYer, Julie sent us this shot of her kitchen. To get this look try painting orange nectar 2013-20 and mayonnaise OC-85. It adds quite the pop of color to this all white kitchen, don’t you think?

I’ve been wanting to paint our small squarish portable kitchen island but couldn’t decide what color, would love to stencil something on it.
The cupboards need painting also, they’re typical mobil home cheapy cupboards which I really do not like at all. Dreary. I’d like to take the middle portions out of cupboard doors on top, put the wavy glass in them but that is quite cost prohibitive for us. Of course I’d love one of the most expensive glass products out there. I’ll be surfing the stencils to find one I could use on cupboards as well as the island.
So glad I saw this post to help nudge me to get started. I could work on painting the island when I’m painting a sign or whatever. I’d love to do red and aqua retro in kitchen. Thanks for wonderful inspirations.
Thank you Janet for you comment and we would love to see pictures of your stenciled kitchen island!!
