Stencils Are A Great Way To Decorate Your Fence
Good morning, my DIY friends. Summer is here and along with this beautiful weather comes more outdoor events. It’s time to spruce up your exterior before you host that family BBQ or patio cocktail party. After all, outdoor gathering spaces deserve just as much attention as the rooms inside your home. Cutting Edge Stencils wants you to consider using stencils to spruce up that outdoor space. Are you still on the fence about this idea? No problem! Just check out what we have in store for you today.
Anastasia Damask Stenciled Fence
Meet Tonya, the design enthusiast and clever crafter behind the blog Hand Painted Furniture. Tonya had a great outdoor space that was perfect for entertaining but her fence felt blah. Tonya wanted to do something bold and different to her outdoor space. She decided to use a wall stencil to pretty up it up. We told you she was clever! She purchased the Anastasia Damask wall stencil, a classic looking damask pattern. Since she was applying the design to a wooden fence, she was prepared for it not to be perfect. Tonya used Van Gogh Fossil paint in Cashmere to paint the traditional pattern on her dark chocolate fence. After the stencil was dry, she sprayed it with a varnish to seal the design. Tonya says, ” I love the way it turned out.”
Chrysanthemum Grande Stenciled Fence
Next we’d like you to meet Holly, the awesome DIYer behind the blog 504 Main. She also decided to add a little stenciled pizazz to her fence. Holly used our Chrysanthemum Grande Stencil and SIDEWALK CHALK! Isn’t that such a cool idea? Let’s back up for a minute and explain. Holly had several backyard events planned and wanted to decorate the space with something fun and interesting. Unfortunately, she has some commitment issues and the thought of paint just didn’t work for her. She had the large flower stencil on hand from a previous project and sidewalk chalk from her kids. She taped the flower stencil to the fence with masking tape, and then started chalking in the design. The results aren’t perfect, but that’s what gives the non-permanent design a fun and whimsical feel. Holly says, ” I LOVE the way this looks on my back fence – rustic sunshine!”
