I’ve been contemplating painting a couple paint cloths for curtains for our master bedroom but have to wait til I can get the paint cloths, then of course the stencil I want to use. That was actually hardest part as I couldn’t make up my mind what pattern I wanted. After seeing the above herringbone curtains I’ve decided. Now all I have to do is be able to afford the herringbone stencil
. Being on SS means having to save and plan a lot. But the wait will be worth it when I finally have the curtains I’ve wanted for our room since we moved in July/2006. Yup, been waiting for awhile. Just thinking about it makes me realize how much more I’ll enjoy those curtains when I finally get them made. Happy days
Hi Janet,
We look forward to see pictures of your stenciled curtains!!
Cheers!!
This is exactly what brought me to this sight! I am wanting to stencil my living room curtains. I love the color, just want to update them to add texture. I am so excited! Now the difficult part…choosing a stencil. :)
Hi Jodi,
We suggest you to place a search on the search box on your right, for “curtains” and you will see more examples.
Also we do have several new stencil designs so take it easy…….:)
This is a very good way to save money, time and recycle. I painted my kitchen a pumpkin color several years ago, and I’ve hated it ever since. Can’t afford a painter again, but even I can stencil. So I’m thinking if I use a white stencil, the pumpkin will go away, especially since I have white counters and two white hutches. ?
Hi Judith,
Your are right! This is a very easy, inexpensive, and fun way to vamp things up around the home :) If you are thinking of covering up the pumpkin color, what you can do is what we like to call a “filler” stencil for example:
Cascade:

Casablanca:

Tuscan Trellis:

Hacienda:

Or an “in between”:
Trellis Allover:

Charlotte Allover:

With these designs you will be covering most of the wall in the white paint you are thinking of and you would be seeing little of the pumpkin you are trying to hide.
Hope this helps! :)
They are all so gorgeous–hard to decide.
I’ve been looking for 2 pairs of Chevron black & white curtains for my living room for almost 6 months. I’m so thankful I found your curtain link. Now, I know exactly what I’m going to do. I have just 2 questions..Is there any specific type of curtain (material) you would be better off using? Is there a video of the above ladies stenciling their curtains? This is a great idea. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to hear back from you. Ciao..
Hi LadyJustice,
Here is a link for how to stencil curtains http://southernhospitalityblog.com/how-to-stencil-drapes/. You might find the tutorial helpful. Most of our customers find stenciling curtain panels from Ikea to be easy and cost effective. The Ritva panels were used in that tutorial http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80063833/. Happy Stenciling!
