Stencils Set the Welcoming Tone in you Home with a Beautifully Decorated Entryway
Hope you’re having a T-riffic Tuesday, my DIY pals! Remember yesterday when Cutting Edge Stencils shared the Year of Change Challenge? Yup, it’s the awesome challenge started by the gals from Suburban Bitches to help keep everyone on track with those home decor goals. We’re curious, if you have one space in your home that you could complete a small DIY project in but reap a huge benefit, which room would you choose? Shut the front door, did you just say your entryway? The entryway is the first impression your house makes on a guest as they walk through the door. Since it’s sometimes neglected in the decor process, it can become cluttered, grungy, dim, and not fun. We want to help you WOW your guests by enhancing your entryway using our stencils. Let’s take a look at an awesome entryway makeover.
We’d like you to meet Rosa, the interior designer and creative DIYer from Rosa Beltran Design. Rosa’s best friend from college recently purchased a home in the hills of LA. Once she made it through the messy remodeling projects, she was ready to decorate. Rosa jumped at the chance to help her friend and decided to enhance her entryway with a stencil. She selected our Kuba Chevron Allover pattern because of its trendy “tribal” vibe. Below is a shot of the small entry vestibule as she began the stenciling process. For her stencil project, she used blue painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and our dense foam roller to paint the pattern. Then she stenciled the tribal design in a medium tone gray similar to Benjamin Moore’s storm AF-700. She said, “I was happy I chose a stencil that didn’t require total perfection … the edges of the pattern are meant to be a little jagged and uneven, which made for a very forgiving stenciling process.”
Once the stenciling was complete, Rosa added a beautiful little console table with a real Carrara marble top to accentuate the space. She actually purchased this steal of deal at a local thrift shop for only $150. Ready to see the fully decorated entryway? Here it is…
And here’s a close-up of the gorgeous stencil work. Rosa had this to say about her completed project, “I love the way the grey marbling ties in with the warm grey paint we selected.” We think it’s gorgeous!
