Cutting Edge Stencils Shares Stenciled Party Ideas
Happy Friday, my DIY party planners! Can Cutting Edge Stencils see a show of hands for those of you that have some sort of bash planned for this weekend? WHOA! Before you put the finishing touches on those party plans, check out the awesome stencil idea we have in store for you today. From birthday parties to baby showers to bridal occasions, we’ve been noticing our stencil patterns popping up in some unusual places. That’s right, our stencil patterns have been spotted on favor tables, behind savory food displays, and even as photo backdrops. It’s like a party version of our ISpy game! So climb on board the party bus because we have some fabulous inspiration to share!
The first stop this party bus is going to make is at a Champagne themed bridal shower. Meet Heidi, the creative party planner from Parties for Pennies. Her sister and BFF, Meg, was getting married and she wanted to throw her the most beautiful bridal shower possible. Heidi selected an elegant Champagne theme in lilac and white hues. To help set the ambiance and add some patterned color to the space, she created a stenciled backdrop using our Casablanca Stencil. (PS. This stencil was used in her hallway project and we love seeing our fans creatively reuse our stencils!) Heidi painted the Moroccan pattern on a tri-fold foam board in a color similar to Benjamin Moore’s crocus 1404 and simply white OC-117. The pretty pattern was then propped up on the savory table. What a gorgeous party!
Let’s continue along the party route and meet another Heidi, the crafty blogger behind Sew.Craft.Create. Originally, Heidi was thinking about creating her own shower curtain for her upstairs bathroom. She grabbed an old white sheet and started stenciling using our Chevron Stencil. Once she finished, she took a step back and realized this zig-zag striped sheet was far too pretty to hide in a bathroom. It actually made for the perfect backdrop for her sister’s upcoming baby shower. The theme of the shower was Up & Away, Holli’s Journey into Motherhood. The soft pastel painted stripe was a beautiful backdrop for the buffet table, as well as, a photo backdrop for guests. We think Heidi did a great job pulling together all the details for this beautiful gathering!
And the final party bus stop, before we unleash you to make your own stenciled creations, is at a whimsical birthday party. Meet Cris the crafty mom and DIY blogger behind Crissy Crafts. Just last week we were talking about her Nadya Damask stenciled powder room, remember? Well today we’re going to take a look at the birthday party she pulled together for her nine year old daughter. Cris’s blue and white Make A Wish party theme was inspired by an open field of dandelions. What kid doesn’t love to make a wish on those silly flowers? She used our playful Dandelion Stencil to craft a backdrop on foam board in blue and white for her favor table. Then she incorporated the stencil pattern throughout the party experience. The end result was a cohesive and magical looking party. That’s one lucky nine year old!
