French Typography Stencils Freshen a Dated Family Room
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! You don’t need to spend a lot of moohla in order to give your family room a major boost in style. Paint and stencil patterns can easily uplift your space without breaking the bank. Today we’re sharing a simple family room refresh using our French Poem Allover Stencil. Come take a look…
We’d like you to welcome back Anne, the creative DIYer and blogger behind White Lace Cottage. It’s honestly one of our favorite decorating blogs so after you finish reading this you need to hop on over and follow her. Anne truly has a beautiful home. Each space exhibits her personality and passion for cottage decor. Anne plans to downsize in a couple of years so this year she hosted a garage sale where she sold off some of the items she wasn’t using anymore. She wanted a simpler space with less clutter. Here is what her family room looked like before she decluttered.
After each stencil design was painted, Anne would un-tape the stencil design and reposition it until her wall was painted. She wanted her pattern to appear faded in certain areas so she used an uneven pressure while painting. The lighter application gave the stencil an aged or worn look in some spots.
Once the stencil was complete, Anne stepped back to admire her handiwork.
Anne stenciled the space right behind her couch using the French Poem Allover Stencil She had this to say about her stencil project, “I added a beautiful French poem stencil (from Cutting Edge Stencils) to my family room wall. That stencil adds character to my wall,”
