Stencils Spotted In A House Tour on Apartment Therapy
Good morning, my DIY fans. Cutting Edge Stencils was recently browsing one of our favorite home decor websites, Apartment Therapy, and we spotted a home tour that was filled with pattern and color. It was love at first sight! Every nook of this decorated home is stunning and of course it features one of our stencils. Let’s take a closer look!
Meet Kristen Tola Hettich, an amazing fashion stylish, food blogger, and interior styling enthusiast. Yup folks, she can do it all! Kristen comments, “I realized my love for styling was not specific to fashion but that I love styling in general and making things look pretty! “And that she does very well as you’re about to see. About a year ago she redecorated her bedroom and that project lit a fire under her to redecorate her entire home. She had a tough time nailing down her personal style. After a little bit of research on Pinterest, Kristen felt she resonated with a Palm Beach Regency look. West Palm Beach is her hometown so she found a wonderful way to blend her roots with lots of gold accessories and vintage decor.
Today, we’re going to take a closer look at her downstairs bathroom/laundry room but you can catch the whole home tour on Apartment Therapy . As a stylist, Kristen has a natural knack for mixing patterns and color. Rather than choose wallpaper, she wanted a hand-painted look for this space. Kristen chose our Casablanca Allover Stencil, a popular Moroccan pattern.
First she painted the wall in a color similar to Benjamin Moore’s decorators white, a soft white with a faint touch of gray. Then she painted the Moroccan pattern in a color similar to Benjamin Moore’s rosemary green, a vibrant shade of green that is both expressive and fanciful. The color combination and stencil pattern have a clean and tropical feel.
Kim selected accent pieces for this room that make a statement, like an area rug with a Greek key pattern from Marshalls and the gold elephant she picked up at a Home Goods.
On the opposite side of the room, Kristen kept things pretty neutral with white decor accessories. The green Casablanca Allover Stencil can be spotted in the mirror.
We love how she pulled together this space using color and pattern to merge her South Florida roots with her California dwelling.
