What is the Curb Appeal Blog Hop?
It’s an awesome blog program that several bloggers put together to provide inspiration for beautifying the exterior of a home. Each week they post affordable DIY ideas on how to increase curb appeal.
Front Porch With Stenciled Accent Pillows
We’d to like to introduce Carrie, the creative DIYer from Curly Crafty Mom. Carrie is one of the participating bloggers for the Curb Appeal Blog Hop. Over the past month, she’s been updating her front porch. On her list of to-do projects was decor items to brighten her porch bench. After browsing the web for ideas, Carrie spotted Paint-A-Pillow. She browsed the website and selected several pillow patterns including the Peony Blossom, Caladium, and Going To Seed. She selected white pillow covers along with gray and yellow Jacquard fabric paint and designer tassels. Carrie was so happy when she realized this was a super simple project. She opened the kit and was ready to start stenciling. She poured her fabric paint into a foam tray and rolled the dense foam roller in the paint. She was careful to not overload the roller because this would cause the paint to bleed under the stencil. When the pillows were completely painted, Carrie commented, “I just love them, so bright and cheery! I went with three nature-themed pillows in grays and yellows.” Once the paint was dry, she inserted the pillow insert and was ready to snap some pics of her curb appeal decor. A DIY Bench With Stenciled Accent Pillows
We’d like welcome back Lauren, the creative blogger behind Mom Home Guide. Lauren had an empty space off to the side of her driveway. The space originally had bushes but they died and subsequently so did the flowering plants she also placed there. The garden space looked bare and needed some DIY love. Since Lauren is also a participating blogger in the Curb Appeal project, she chose to focus on this area. Lauren crafted a DIY bench out of cinder blocks and then needed some accent pillow to help dress it up. She browsed the Paint-A-Pillow website and selected the Dahlia Blossom kit with two white pillow covers and turquoise and yellow fabric paint. With her kit in hand, she was able to easily complete her project. Lauren commented, “I really like how my DIY stenciled pillows came out! I think they look great on the bench! The pillows make my DIY outdoor garden seating area a much more cozy and welcoming place.” Make sure you visit her blog to see all of her curb appeal projects and enter her giveaway.
