Using Stencils To Decorate For The Fall
Happy Friday, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Did you catch our post yesterday on using stencils to decorate for the Fall/Halloween season? If not you can read it here. Our Halloween Stencils make DIY decorating fun and easy so it’s no surprise when Stephanie, from Casa Watkins asked us to participate in a Stenciled Halloween/Fall Pillow Challenge. Come see how these bloggers put their spin on our spooky spider, eerie crow, and plump pumpkin stencils!
What is the Create & Share: Stenciled Halloween/Fall Pillow Challenge? Each month Stephanie holds a Create & Share competition where she challenges her oh-so creative blogger pals to a friendly little craft-off. This month they chose to partner with Cutting Edge Stencils using our Halloween Accent Pillow Kits. Each participant was able to select one of our new Halloween Stencils of their choice and they were tasked with creating a unique accent pillow. Awesome, isn’t it? We think so! The projects are in and the results have blown our minds! Be sure to check out the other 16 DIY projects and the special stencil giveaway.
We love a good challenge especially when you can see how clever each blogger can be using the similar stencils. Between today and Monday, we will be sharing the projects on our blog and providing links to all of the participating bloggers so feel free to hop around the blogs and enter our stencil giveaway.
Project #6: Pumpkin Painted Pillow with Braided Trim
We’d like to welcome Amanda , the crafty blogger behind Old House To New Home. Amanda likes to decorate her home for the Fall so she selected our Pumpkin Accent Pillow kit for her project. Rather than paint the traditional orange pumpkin, Amanda chose to kick it up one stylish notch! She painted the pumpkin using Martha Stewart Craft Paint in Rose Gold and then embellished it with braided jute around the border Check out her blog to see how she did it. Amanda had this to say about her project, ” Easy and so cute! I absolutely love how this DIY Painted Pillow with Braided Trim turned out and I am so happy to have this custom unique piece in my house!”
Project #7: Stencils Spider Accent Pillow With Web
Meet Emily, the awesome crafty blogger behind Our House Now A Home. Emily chose the Spider Accent Pillow Kit with a white pillow cover and black paint. Since she doesn’t have a ton of experience stenciling on fabric, she was slightly nervous for this project. Fortunately for her, our accent pillow kits make crafting a DIY pillow super easy. Emily painted the spider pattern and then added her own webbed flair using black and orange twine. Emily had this to say about her finished project, ” The pillow was done, in one afternoon! I love projects like this. I have a great pillow to add to my home and bring out the Halloween fun, and it was not a difficult project to do. ”
Project #8: Haunted House Accent Pillow
We’d like to introduce April, the creative gal behind Uncookie Cutter. April was excited to create A DIY Halloween accent pillow using one of our kits. She selected the Haunted House Stencil accent pillow kit along with a white pillow cover. She put an awesome twist on her accent pillow by painting the cover black prior to stenciling the haunted house pattern. We think it look spooktacular! Ok, well she is back at it again and this time she is crafting DIY Halloween accent pillows. She chose the Crow Pillow Stencil Kit. She had this to say about the eerie crow pattern, “I love the implied creepiness of the crow without actually being creepy, my kind of Halloween decorating.” Be sure to check out how she created her Halloween mantel using the Crow Stencil and enter the stencil giveaway.
