Wall Stencils Add Sophistication and Style To A Breakfast Nook
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! A beautiful wall stencil pattern and a pretty color palette can create the ultimate wow factor in a space. Let’s take a look at a breakfast nook transformation that achieves style and sophistication using our Chinoiserie Birds and Roses Mural Stencil.
We’d like to introduce Kathryn, a creative DIYer and the blogger behind The Dedicated House. Kathryn signed up to participate in a project called the One Room Challenge which was designed by Linda from Calling it Home. The purpose of the fun challenge was to have DIY bloggers put their creativity, perseverance and patience to test by completing a room makeover in six short weeks. The challenge is awesome and now that the Spring session has wrapped up there are tons of DIY eye-candy to see.
Kathryn chose to give her breakfast nook a makeover. Her beige and bland space had a ton of potential. Here is what it looked like before.
Kathryn had a blank canvas to work with and she was ready to take on the task! She put together a modern and fresh design plan to transform this dull breakfast nook into a dreamy space. A stencil design is a great way to add visual interest and depth to a space without breaking the piggy bank. Kathryn browsed our website and selected the Chinoiserie Birds and Roses Mural Stencil.
We are going to provide all of the links at the bottom of this post so you can see Kathryn’s room adventure but we’re going to focus on the stenciling. She painted the room Sherwin Williams Gray Screen SW 7071. Then she used blue painter’s tape to hold the Chinoiserie Mural Stencil in place and she painted the chinoiserie pattern in various craft paints. After each section was complete, she would untape the stencil and reposition to finish the pattern on the accent wall. After the accent wall was stenciled, Kathryn completed several other DIY projects to wrap up her breakfast nook makeover.
