Painted and Stenciled Furniture in Bright, Cheerful Blue Tones
Looking to kick it up a notch? Cottage Paints has not only fully embraced stenciling furniture but they’re also head over heals for these cool shades of blue! They painted this dresser in a cheerful shade of turquoise, similar to Benjamin Moore’s tropicana cabana 2048-50 and then stenciled our Freedom Wall Stencil across the front. Adorable!!
Next, we have this lovely piece that was sent to us by our craft Facebook fan, Donna. She used the Chevron Craft Stencil to upcycle this thrift store find. Teal certainly appeals when it’s done in a fun zig zag!!
Teal chairs, dresser, bed frame, and desk; oh MY! Vintage Revival Designers sure does have a teal crush based on these gorgeous designs. They created these eye-catching wonders using our Antico Allover Stencil and a lustrous shade of teal. This stenciled set will certainly add a burst of rich, vibrant color to any space!
Now let’s just say you’re not completely ready to embrace these blue jeweled hues. There’s always the option to paint the furniture in white and stencil a small section in turquoise! Like Furniture Alchemy did with the nightstands shown below. Using our Chevron Craft stencil and Casablanca Craft Stencil they added a little blue flair to these bedroom beauties. They had this to say about their custom nightstands, ” My favorite parts are the shelves! I stenciled on both sides and they can be flipped over for chevron stripe, Casablanca, or mix and match!” Super creative, don’t you think?!
So tell us, teal or turquoise: which blue hue would you choose to stencil with? Leave us a comment below!

The colours used by Cottage Paints are fast becoming my favourites…. this artist has been an inspiration for a novice regarding the painting of furniture – I look forward to being able to use the stenciling as soon as I can afford to purchase lol…
Hi Georgene,
We look forward to see some pictures of your Furniture Stenciling!!
Cheers in advance!! :)
I’d choose the teal, but realize that the turquoise is really hot. I’m not into blues of any shade, but am planning to redo my dining room in multiple colors of dark brown (metallic), champagne, deep barn red, and aqua. Because I couldn’t find a wallpaper stripe with all of the above colors, I turned to faux painting and stenciling. To date, although I’ve not done one thing in the dining room, I’ve spent $xxxx’s learning faux painting techniques, more $xxxx’s on products including paints, stencils, fabrics, etc., and am very excited to start on the project in the winter. Before that, plan to completely redo my kitchen. Thanks for the great stenciling products and tips. Love the level and will be ordering more from you in the future.
Thank you Yvonne for your comment and we look forward to see pictures of your work of art!! :)
