Special Stencil Project Brings a Little Bit of Joy to a Homeless Shelter
In May, Cutting Edge Stencils was approached by Cathy Ryon who, with a vision and a warm heart, had a dream to remodel the interior of a homeless shelter in town. Cathy claimed it as her duty to bring life, happiness and hope to the residents and visitors of the shelter by painting the walls with brighter colors and bringing the openness of the outdoors inside by using our Large Tree and Bird Stencil! By seeking out this particular stencil pattern, Cathy hoped this stencil design would bring something friendly and fun enough for the children’s enjoyment, but would also send a warm and appealing message to anyone who entered the shelter.
So, the entry room/playroom of the shelter was painted with a cheerful yellow base, and the Large Tree and Bird Stencil was painted with light and dark grey colors to give the “forest” depth. Cathy also painted the birds with vibrant, varying colors like pink, red and green! Cathy hopes that the new painting ideas along with Cutting Edge Stencils‘ stencil pattern will lift the spirits of those coming to the shelter, and eliminate any fear or sorrow they may have. This is such a beautiful cause, and we are honored to have been part of bringing joy to these people’s lives!
