Stenciled Master Bedroom Accent Wall Features A Silver Marrakech Trellis Stencil
Good morning, my sleeping beauties! Is it Friday yet? There are some mornings where we totally understand if jumping out of bed is more difficult than usual. The good news is that this blog post can be read from the comforts of your snuggly bed. Ready for the bad news? Be warned, what Cutting Edge Stencils is about to share with you might jump start your desire for a bedroom makeover. Today we’re going to show you how easy it is to transform the look of your master bedroom using stencils.
We’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn, the home décor enthusiast and fabulous DIYer behind the blog J&S Blog. Jaclyn and her husband purchased their first home about a year ago and have been decorating it with one DIY project at a time. Her goal is to go from room to room making their house feel like home. First stop was the master bedroom. She wanted to complete DIY projects that would give the plain beige room lots of personality. Here is the room she started with…
It’s pretty but it’s missing something. Jaclyn fell in love with the look of patterned walls and knew it would be the perfect way to add personality to her space. She ordered our Marrakech Trellis Allover Stencil, but before she painted her bedroom wall she decided to test her stenciling capabilities in her walk-in closet. It’s great to practice stenciling something and get the hang of the technique. She painted the Moroccan pattern using Benjamin Moore’s Metallic Glaze in pearlescent white. Here is Jaclyn’s stenciled closet:
Once she had the hang of it, she was ready to stencil her master bedroom. Jaclyn used blue painters tape to adhere her stencil to the wall. Then she used a foam roller to paint the stencil pattern. The walls were painted with a color similar to Benjamin Moore’s elmira white HC-84 and she painted the stencil in the same color she used for the closet, Benjamin Moore’s Metallic Glaze in pearlescent white.
Ready for the room reveal? Here is her new master bedroom complete with a shimmery stenciled accent wall. There’s something about throwing a flash of silvery metallic in a room that makes it seem classy and interesting. Jaclyn had this to say about her project, “I love how subtle and classy it is.”
Here is a close-up of the stencil. Jaclyn also said,” If I could…I would stencil every wall in my house. I will definitely be purchasing more stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils.” Awe, she’s making us blush!
