Welcome back, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Turn flea market finds into one of a kind pieces for your home. It’s amazing what secondhand scores, such as furniture and old art, can become using stencils.  Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of creative thinking and your favorite stencil pattern to help reveal the hidden charm of a cast-off item.  Today we’re sharing how some of our favorite bloggers transformed their flea market finds using the French Poem Craft Stencil.

A French Poem Stenciled Bench

Meet Nancy, the creative DIYer behind the blog Arty Chicks Rule.  She inherited this flea market find from a friend.  It was a lovely wooden bench that was a little beat up around the edges but had a lot of character and life left in it.  The first thing she did was sand the bench and paint it using Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint in Pure White.  Then Nancy chose to add a typography pattern using our French Poem Stencil.  She used painter’s tape to hold the stencil in place and painted the pattern in Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg Blue using a stencil brush.  Nancy placed her finished project in front of her window along with a cozy blanket and throw pillow.  She commented, “Such a cozy sitting spot now! French Poem Stenciled Wall Art

Next up, we’d like to introduce you to Michelle the creative blogger behind Our Crafty Mom.  She won a stencil from a giveaway and chose the French Poem Stencil.  With the stencil in hand, her creative wheels began to turn.  Michelle had picked up an old piece of art at a thrift store.  She coated it with metallic chrome spray paint and then decided to stencil the french typography in gold.  Be sure to catch her entire tutorial on her blog, Our Crafty Mom.  Michelle hung her custom piece of art in her living room.  She commented, ” I am in love with this original piece of art. It looks just lovely in my living room!”  We agree that it’s amazing!
