Paint and Stencils Can Makeover An Old Bathroom
Good morning, my DIY bathroom renovators! With lots of home update projects on the to-do list, each one doesn’t have to be a major renovation. Cutting Edge Stencils has the answer for you! Whether you’re limited by time or money, stenciling is an easy way to give new life to an old space. Paint, stencil patterns, and a few carefully chosen decor accessories can totally transform the look of a dull space. Today we have a bathroom makeover that uses one of our new geometric stencils, the Drifting Arrows Allover. Let’s take a look!
We’d like to introduce Mandy, the craft queen behind the blog Sugar Bee Crafts. Mandy loves stenciling and her passion for stencils has since rubbed off on her family. When her cousin, Kate mentioned giving her kid’s bathroom an design overhaul, Mandy’s DIY light bulb went off. The bathroom was a dismal beige and was in a desperate need of a pop of color and pattern. The first thing Kate did was choose a stencil pattern from our newest stencil designs, the Drifting Arrows Allover pattern. This trendy geometric combines the herringbone and arrow patterns. Kate set up her supplies on the bathroom vanity and then read through the detailed stencil instructions.
She used blue painter’s tape to help hold the stencil in place and then painted the arrow pattern in a gray hue using a dense foam roller. To add a little pop of color, she randomly painted a section in turquoise. Kate also ordered the Clip-on stencil level, which was helpful for making sure her stencil was aligned properly.
After she painted one section, she would un-tape the stencil and reposition it to stencil a new section. She did this until the pattern was complete on the wall.
Once the whole wall was stenciled, Kate added a turquoise painted frame and some new towels. Ready to see how it all turned out?
So pretty, isn’t it? Mandy commented on Kate’s project, “Didn’t it turn out great?! She did a great job and it really makes for a fun bathroom accent wall.”
And here’s a close-up of the stencil work. Mandy adds, “I really love the pops of turquoise mixed in with the gray arrows”
