Stencils Shine In DIY Dresser Makeovers
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! Paint can do wonders for blah and bland furniture. But there are more things you can do besides just slapping on a fresh coat of color. One of the easiest ways to spice up a dull looking dresser is to add a furniture stencil like our Indian Inlay Stencil Kit. We’ve gathered up seven seriously impressive dresser makeovers using the bone inlay inspired pattern along with some helpful stenciling tips.
First up is this gorgeous stenciled dresser by Titti, the creative blogger behind Shoestring Pavilion. This large wooden dresser was once cast off to the curb for garbage pick-up. Titti picked up this little gem and re-imagined it into this beauty with the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit. She kept that natural wood color and enhanced it using the stencil pattern. Titti commented, “I really enjoyed the stencils and the end results are great!”
Sue Ross, from ImAllAboutThatPaint (and possibly stencils) painted this lovely dresser in navy and cream and stenciled it with the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit. She commented, “It’s all done! Added glass knobs which all sparkle in the light. So pretty!”
Thinking outside the box is certainly needed when you begin a furniture project. Sheila, from Furniture Alchemy, took this flea market find to the next level. She painted the dresser turquoise and added a surprise pattern on the inside drawers using Indian Inlay Stencil.
This stencil is truly flattering on furniture. Alison, the DIYer behind the blog Stella + Olive, gave her plain Ikea dresser an overhaul. She painted it a soothing gray and then stenciled the bone inlay pattern in white. The green flower shaped knobs complete the new look.
This black and white beauty is dressed to impressed. Jody W., a first-time stencil fan, painted the Indian Inlay Stencil in white on a black dresser.
These stenciled dressers are super impressive. Before you rush off to stencil your own, watch our video filled with trade secrets on how to up cycle a piece of furniture using the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit.

I like parts of that stencil but all over just too much for me, too busy. I like soft looking and quiet patterns. How the projects were done are beautifully done but not my taste. That’s why it’s so great can use only parts of a stencil if whole is too much. All projects really pretty.
