Stenciling Stripes Using the Covington Allover Pattern
Welcome back, my DIY sleepy heads! Cutting Edge Stencils is going to allow you one last lazy stretch before we tease you with an awesome DIY idea. If you’re tired of staring at boring bedroom walls then wall stripes might be the way to go. Wall stripes can add a stylish and sophisticated look to any space. Do you know what’s even better than a plain old stripe? Stenciled stripes! Today we have a bedroom makeover featuring a stenciled stripe. Come check it out.
We’d like to welcome Gwen, the creative DIYer behind the blog The Bold Abode. Gwen decided it was time to give her master bedroom a little makeover. She hemmed and hawed over what to do and landed on wall stripes. After all stripes are awesome, right? Right! Gwen’s walls have a bit of a texture so she researched how to create the perfect wall stripes. Once she had all of the necessary tools, she hired an adorable helper and got to work. Together they painted blue stripes using Rain by Sherwin Williams over the white walls.
Once the stripes were painted, Gwen took a step back to admire her handy work. They did come out neat and straight which was very impressive but they felt blah. That’s when her stenciling light bulb went off! Gwen had won our Covington Allover pattern in a giveaway. It’s a fun geometric pattern with a bit of a Moroccan flair. Gwen chose to stencil the white section of the stripes with the pattern. She used blue painters tape to adhere the stencil to the wall and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in Sherwin Williams’ Rain.
After the Covington Allover pattern was painted on the wall, Gwen added the final decorating touches which included this DIY gold desk to her master bedroom. Are you ready to see how her stenciled stripes turned out? She had this to say about her stenciled space, “I’m so uber-happy with this project” We think it looks gorgeous!
Here is a close-up of the pretty pattern.

Great idea to give more substance to stripes. The pattern is not too much, good for her for taking the extra leap. Her helper is a keeper too, what a handsome young man. They both did a wonderful job on that wall.
Thank you for your positive feedback JaneEllen!!
