Halloween Stencils Make Crafting Accent Pillows Easy and Fun
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends! We love the idea of using stencils to decorate for the Fall/Halloween season. From traditional pumpkin decor to spooky spiders, our Halloween Stencils make DIY decorating fun and easy. So when Stephanie, from Casa Watkins came to us about participating in a Stenciled Halloween/Fall Pillow Challenge, we were totally in!
What is the Create & Share: Stenciled Halloween/Fall Pillow Challenge? Each month Stephanie holds a Create & Share competition where she challenges her oh-so creative blogger pals to a friendly little craft-off. This month they chose to partner with Cutting Edge Stencils using our Halloween Accent Pillow Kits. Each participant was able to select one of our new Halloween Stencils of their choice and they were tasked with creating a unique accent pillow. Awesome, isn’t it? We think so! The projects are in and the results have blown our minds! Be sure to check out the other 16 DIY projects and the special stencil giveaway.
We love a good challenge especially when you can see how clever each blogger can be using the similar stencils. Between today and Monday, we will be sharing the projects on our blog and providing links to all of the participating bloggers so feel free to hop around the blogs and enter our stencil giveaway.
Project #1: Teal Pumpkin Stenciled Pillow
Let’s welcome back Stephanie, the crafty blogger behind Casa Watkins. Placing a teal pumpkin outside has become the symbol for a house that has allergy safe treats for kids. While Stephanie’s kids do not have food allergies, she loved the concept so much that she brought this teal-riffic concept indoors. She selected our Pumpkin Accent Pillow kit for her project. Check out her blog to see how she did it. Stephanie had this to say about her project, ” How amazing does this pillow look? I adore the color scheme of my family room pillows and my new non-traditional painted pumpkin pillow fits right in.”
Project #2: Spider Stenciled Accent Pillow
Meet Iris, the awesome crafty blogger behind Around the Watts House. Iris chose the Spider Accent Pillow Kit with a white pillow cover and black paint. She hand-crafted a spooky yet playful spider pillow. After Iris had this to say about her finished project, ” It was fun to play with the design, and I think it gives the look a bit of a fun/creepy look. Just what I was hoping for!” We think the googly eyes help.
Project #3: Haunted House Accent Pillow
We’d like to welcome back Ruthie, the creative DIY blogger behind Refashionably Late. You might recall the lace stenciled accent wall she painted in her bedroom because it was stunning. Well it seems like Ruthie has been bitten by the stenciling bug because she now is crafting stenciled accent pillows. Ruthie selected the Haunted House Stencil accent pillow kit along with a white pillow cover. She commented, “I love how it turned out!” Check out her blog to see how she pulled this spooky scene together and be sure to enter our stencil giveaway.
Project #4: Crow Stenciled Accent Pillow
Let’s give a warm hello to Stephanie, the creative DIY queen behind One Mile Home Style. She decided to craft a Halloween pillow using the Crow Pillow Stencil Kit. She painted the eerie crow pattern in black and then added whimsical looking pom poms. Iris had this to say about her project, “Ta-da!! I am loving my new Halloween Crow Pillow, it’s a little bit spooky and a little bit fun. It was such an easy afternoon project and it’s the perfect little Halloween touch for our living room.”
Project #4: Bleached & Stenciled Skull Accent Pillow
Let’s welcome back Jess, the extremely creative DIYer behind Domicile 37. Now we say extremely creative because she totally put her own spin on creating a stenciled accent pillow. Jess selected using the Skull #1 Pillow Stencil Kit. Rather than use a traditional technique to paint her pillow, she chose to use bleach. Yup, bleach. Jess had this to say about her project, “I was totally thinking Rock n’ Roll 90’s vibe. ” We think she nailed it!
Check back tomorrow because we will be featuring five more projects!
