Cutting Edge Stencils Shares Stenciled Indigo Home Decor and Room Ideas
Good morning, my color enthusiasts! Do you have a bit of the Monday morning blues? Cutting Edge Stencils sure does and the blue that has us all excited is indigo. We just can’t seem to get enough of the blue-violet hue and we feel it is versatile and elegant. Blue never seems to go out of style but indigo seems to be the talk of the town these days. Are you wondering why? Well this timeless wall color can be swayed from classic to modern depending on the wall pattern. Even as an accent, indigo has a “use it now, love it later” mentality.
Winter might be on its way but this cool hue is sizzling in home decor! Take this roundup of indigo home decor items found in House Beautiful as a sweltering example. We think these items are oh-so pretty!
1. Tiered Pendant, $300. furbishstudio.com // 2. Linen Tufted Ottoman, $260. hsn.com/hbmarketplace // 3. A6 Pressed Cotton Notebook, $20. stevenalan.com // 4. C2 Paint in Sorcerer. c2paint.com // 5. Indigo Stenciled Rooms and Home Decor
This trendy hue can look sophisticated and stylish when paired with a cream. Take this Paisley Allover stenciled accent wall spotted on Joss and Main as the perfect example. This eye-catching hallway was painted in a hue similar to Benjamin Moore’s butter cookie csp-995 and the paisley pattern was stenciled in a deep blue like Benjamin Moore’s indi go go csp-565.
Or let this vibrant hue shimmer with a tone on tone application. Misty, one of our creative stencil fans painted our classic Houndstooth Allover stencil in semi-gloss over matte using an indigo color similar to Benjamin Moore’s stunning 826.
Are you feeling a bit bold these days? Then pack a punch with vibrant color and and patterns just like the ones shown in the space below. The Ikat Samarkand stenciled accent wall was painted in a color similar to Benjamin Moore’s blue nova 825 and simply white OC-117. Then toss in some stenciled pillows using a Paint-A-Pillow kit.
Are you not quite ready to stencil indigo on your walls? We understand and that’s why we love the idea of adding a splash of indigo using furniture or home decor accessories. Kate, the talented gal from Centsational Girl painted this bone inlay inspired dresser. Once the piece was painted white, she stenciled our Nagoya Craft pattern in Glidden’s Rich Navy.
Embrace the trend in small doses and sprinkle a bit of indigo in your space using home decor accessories just like this frame. Sarah, an Etsy shop owner, painted this indigo wooden frame using our Perfect Catch Craft stencil.
Do you have a color obsession with indigo also? We’d love to read your thoughts in the comments below.

Wow, lots to look at and so much to think about. I’d be ok with painting a wall indigo, just one wall as accent. Think our guest bath would be good place to start. We have sky light so room isn’t dark altho there’s no window in room. It’s painted milk chocolate brown now but am getting tired of it. Will be thinking about the indigo. Is Indigo also navy? Your site gets me inspired to try things. I love that frame with the rope design a lot. Would be great in our living room in summer as I have a beach thing going then.
I love that crane stencil on canvas. I have a large canvas would be great to do that on. Will look to see if I can afford stencil.
Hi JaneEllen, Indigo is similar to navy but a little brighter. Benjamin Moore has some great Indigo color options. We’re happy that our blog inspires you.
