Stencil Patterns Make Crafting Custom Accent Pillows Easy!
Good morning, my Cutting Edge Stencils friends. Crafting a custom accent pillow is super easy when using our accent pillow stencil kits. The kits come with everything needed for the project and no prior stenciling experience is required. If this sounds like a dream DIY project to you then keep reading! Let’s take a look at this stenciled pillow project using one of our accent pillows stencils.
We’d like to introduce Tasheena, the fashion and lifestyle blogger behind the blog Simply Tasheena. Tasheena loves DIY projects but most importantly, she loves easy DIY projects. Don’t we all? Needless to say she was super excited when she stumbled upon our painted accent pillow using our pillow stencil kits.
Tasheena browsed our website for the perfect pillow pattern. She fell in love with our Cascade Pillow Stencil, a pretty Moroccan inspired pattern.
The accent pillow kit comes with everything for the project including a white pillow cover, gray Jacquard fabric paint, a foam paint tray, and a dense foam roller. Once the kit arrived, she was ready to start stenciling.
The stencil design is held securely in place with the stenciling frame. Tasheena poured her fabric paint into the foam tray. She rolled the dense foam roller through the paint to lightly coat it. Be careful not to overload the roller with paint. Roll off the excess paint onto a folded paper towel until the roller looks almost dry. The key to stenciling is using as little paint as possible. Too much paint will cause the design to bleed and smudge.
Once the entire pillow cover was painted, Tasheena peeled back the stencil to reveal the pretty geometric pattern! Are you ready to see how her crafty project turned out? Here it is!
