Cutting Edge Stencils Shares A Trendy Faux Bois Stenciled Powder Room
Good morning, my home decor trendsetters! For awhile now, Cutting Edge Stencils has been spotting faux bois styled home decor items left and right. Remember when we issued our trend alert earlier this year?
Since our last post, it appears as though this super trend has only grown bigger! But let’s back up for a second. Aare you wondering what faux bois (pronounced foe bwah) is? Simply put, it’s French for “fake wood,” but faux bois sounds way more stylish, so that’s the name we’re sticking with. Faux bois designs can be found gracing everything from throw pillows to rugs, and oh so much more. Elle Decor notes,”This traditional rustic motif is suddenly hip, showing up in glamorous new guises and a range of unlikely colors.”
Whether You Call It Faux Bois or Fake Wood, It’s a Hot Home Decor Trend…
The best part about the faux bois trend is that it’s a fabulous way to bring nature into your home. It’s possible to create an earthy atmosphere just by adding a splash of stenciled faux bois to your decor. Are you digging the sound of this? Then you’re going to LOVE this fabulous faux bois stenciled powder room that we’re about to show you!
We’d like you to meet Sarah, the interior designer and creative DIYer behind the blog Just The Bee’s Knees. Sarah had been obsessing over the faux bois wallpaper on the popular home decor websites. Unfortunately the designer wallpaper was way out of her budget. That’s when Sarah discovered our Faux Bois Stencil Pattern and realized her designer looking dreams could come true. She said, “I could create the look with this wall stencil for so much less than it would cost to buy the wallpaper!” With her stencil in hand and her dull powder room in need of a makeover, she was ready to transform! Take a look at what she started with…
Sarah started by painting her bathroom wall a soft shade of grey, Sherwin Williams Loggia SW750. Before she started stenciling she watched our detailed how-to videos on our website and then gathered her stenciling supplies. Sarah found our clip-on stencil level to be very helpful during this process, calling it “an absolute must have” tool. Since she wanted a subtle, low contrast pattern, she chose Sherwin Williams Wool Skein SW6148 for the stencil color.
Are you ready for the big reveal? Here is Sarah’s absolutely gorgeous powder room. The Faux Bois Stencil pattern is simply stunning and looks like the designer wallpaper that Sarah was lusting over in Elle Decor. Great job, Sarah! We love the new look of your powder room.
Sarah is hosting a $50 Cutting Edge Stencils giveaway on her blog, Just the Bees Knees. So hop on over and enter now!
